Meetings

All meetings start at 7:00 p.m and are held in the meeting room upstairs in the Town Hall, Market Place, Settle, BD24 9EJ

We are now located through the door on your right as you come up the main staircase to the first floor,then you will come to the council office on the left as you open the door.

Disabled access is available, please notify the clerk so that arrangements can be made. 

All meetings of Settle Town Council are open to members of the public.  

Committees

The council has five committees. Each committee normally meets twice each fiscal year. All councillors are members on each of the committees. Agendas and minutes and terms of reference for each of the committees (and the full council) can be found by clicking on the committee names below.

The council has reorganised the Recreational and Amenities Committee and has created a new committee to manage the services that the Town Council provides such as lighting and cemeteries and it will be known as the Services Committee. All past agendas and minutes will remain under the original committee name, and all future agendas and minutes will appear under the new committee name.

Full Council

Meetings are attended by all members of the Council and are held every first Monday of the month.

Administration, Finance and Staffing

Meetings are attended by all members of the Council and are held at minimum twice a year or as agreed by Full Council Resolution.

Allotments

Meetings are attended by all members of the Council and are held at minimum twice a year or as agreed by Full Council Resolution.

Markets

Meetings must be attended by at least 3 councillors and other members of market staff and representatives. They are held at minimum twice a year or as agreed by Full Council Resolution.

Recreation, Amenities and Open Spaces

Meetings must be attended by at least 3 councillors plus other representatives. They are held at minimum twice a year or as agreed by Full Council Resolution.

Services

Meetings are attended by all members of the Council and are held at minimum twice a year or as agreed by Full Council Resolution.

*Please note that dates and times can change and, occasionally, a meeting may be cancelled or rescheduled. Agendas are usually available three working days ahead of each meeting. Minutes of meetings are produced in draft format as soon as possible following the meeting.

**Please note that minutes are not regarded as a true and correct record until they have been accepted and approved at the following meeting of each Committee and subsequently by Full Council. The draft minutes available on the website will not include any items which were dealt with in private session, with press and members of the public excluded.
