Street Lighting

Settle Town Council owns 162 street lights which are mixed in with the street lights owned and maintained by North Yorkshire County Council. All the lamps in the district are maintained and replaced by North Yorkshire County Council. The town council pays for for this maintenance service for our lamps.

The council also has continuous improvement program to replace the old lamps with led lamps to improve the amount of light emitted by them and to reduce the council’s electricity costs.

If you find a lamp which has failed either by it being permanently on or permanently off. Please help the council by reporting it on the North Yorkshire County Council Website and follow the instructions to report the failure.
