CASTLEBERG CRAG WILL BE CLOSED – THURSDAY 11TH FEBRUARY
Strictly no entry to the Castleberg woodland or Crag. The closure is required for essential tree works and maintenance to be carried out.
Settle is a Market Town located on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Settle provides a centre for goods and services to a much larger population with many outlying villages having Settle as their nearest town. Settle also has many tourists and day visitors, particularly in the summer. There are a number of large camping and caravan grounds nearby and the area is very popular with walkers, cyclists and outdoor pursuits.

Settle Town Council is required to set a budget for each financial year, and it is this budget that determines the local council element of your Council Tax Bill. The amount varies by the Council Tax Band of your home. The Council has set a precept for 2026/27 of £183,210.
The Government has announced plans to introduce a visitor levy on overnight stays in hotels, B&Bs, and holiday lets. A consultation is available on GOV.UK.
