Street Lighting

Settle Town Council owns 168 street lights the remaining street lights are owned and maintained by North Yorkshire County Council. The town council pays for for this maintenance service for our lamps. The only other lighting not owned or maintained by Settle Town Council or North Yorkshire County Council are the main Craven District run car parks.


 Ashfield, Greenfoot and Whitefriars car parks and the lighting are owned by Craven District Council and can be reported directly to them on contactuscravendc.gov.uk  or ring 01756 700600

The council also has continuous improvement program to replace the old lamps with led lamps to improve the amount of light emitted by them and to reduce the council’s electricity costs.

If you find a lamp which has failed either by it being permanently on or permanently off. Please help the council by reporting it on the North Yorkshire County Council Website and follow the instructions to report the failure.
